Howard could price himself out of a move

Tim Howard’s summer move to America could be off due to the ‘keepers wage demands, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 36-year-old has fallen out of favour with Everton supporters and has recently lost his place in the starting line-up to Joel Robles, who has kept four clean sheets in his last five matches.

But Howard may have to get used to life on the Goodison bench as he is reportedly demanding a four-year-deal worth £70,000-a-week to move to MLS outfit Colorado Rapids.

That equates to £3.5million a year and given the fact that he’ll be 41 when the contract ends, the Rapids have been looking elsewhere.

The Rapids were looking for Howard to be their marquee signing but have been put off by his demands.

The former United stopper is believed to be on around £50,000-£60,000-a-week at Everton and has two-and-a-half-years left on his current deal with the Toffeemen.

Howard has made over 400 appearances for Everton since moving from the Red Devils in 2006 for £3million.
