James Garner records an outstanding March

Garner recorded two assists across Everton’s three Premier League games in March. He created goals against Burnley and Chelsea, including a sublime through ball for Beto’s opener in the 3-0 victory over the Blues. He also impressed while operating at right-back against league-leading Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The 25-year-old’s form earned him his first senior England call-up last week, capping a memorable month. He now has six Premier League assists for the season, level with Jack Grealish for the most in the Everton squad.

Speaking after the Chelsea win, Garner told Everton: “I’m trying to do everything. I’m trying to win the ball, I’m trying to create, I’m trying to score and I’m trying to lead. Whatever I can do. If I can’t affect the game one way, I’ll be affecting it the other way.”

David Moyes was full of praise for his midfielder after the Chelsea performance. “I might be biased but, for me, he was the best player on the pitch,” the Everton manager said.
