James Rodriguez currently in Qatar over talks with club with Everton looking to offload

The summer transfer window may be over but that hasn’t stopped the Toffees from trying to sell.

Despite joining the club just over a year ago, James Rodriguez is likely to depart in the coming weeks.

Following the appointment of Rafa Benitez this summer, Rodriguez was said not to be a part of his plans.

The club signed the Colombian forward on the demands of Carlo Ancelotti, with the pair working together previously.

However, following the Italians departure, it has become increasingly likely that Rodriguez will also leave.

Reports this morning have now stated that the winger is currently in Qatar, in talks with a club over a potential deal.

The news was reported by The Times’ Paul Joyce on Twitter, stating that Everton are looking to offload him…

The Colombian enjoyed a great start to life at Goodison, with his evident quality and experience proving vital.

Sadly for him, his time at Everton is coming closer to an end, with the club clearly moving in a different direction.

You can’t help but feel sorry for Rodriguez, however, given Ancelotti’s shock departure so soon after signing him.

The Italian jumped ship, and now it looks as though the winger is wanting out too.

Luckily how his situation, the Blues are in the same position, with them hoping to resolve the situation soon.

It has not been named which club in Qatar that Rodriguez is in talks with but they will no doubt be able to facilitate his wage demands.

New signings at Everton such as Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend have proven that the club can carry on without him.

Hopefully, both parties will be able to put this transfer mess behind them and carry on with this season.
