Kenwright to be transfer conductor

Roberto Martinez told the Liverpool Echo that chairman Bill Kenwright will be the conductor of Everton’s summer transfers.

Speaking to the newspaper, Martinez said:

Our chairman is the perfect conductor for [transfers].

With Everton’s new investment and a lucrative TV deal coming in next season, there will be a great deal of money to rejuvenate the squad with a total of £150m is believed to be made available, but Martinez and Moshiri haven’t finalised budgets and targets as yet.

But Martinez has urged focus on the end of Everton’s season before people begin to worry about transfers, with silverware and an upturn in home results hoped for by many fans.

But we are in the final third of the season and all that matters is the day to day and making sure we are as ready and prepared as we can be for every game we’ve got and then we will have enough time to sit down and see what we can do in the summer.

Everton currently sit in 12th with just nine games of their leagues season to go. They have a paltry 38 points which means European qualification via the league is now essentially impossible.

But the Blues are in the semi finals of the FA Cup, with many fans dreaming of cup success this season.
