Marco Silva discusses Sandro Ramirez’s future at Everton

Everton manager Marco Silva has hailed Sandro Ramirez’s professionalism following his difficult tenure on Merseyside so far.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees boss fielded questions about Sandro’s future at the club but remained tight-lipped as clubs from across Europe contemplate loan swoops for the striker.

I spoke with Sandro two weeks, three weeks ago, I was clear with him, he was clear with me. About if he is leaving or not, I don’t have anything more to talk about.

Sandro was recruited by Everton only last summer after the club opted to trigger his release clause at Malaga. However, he was scarcely utilised under Ronald Koeman and was sent out on loan to Sevilla in the January transfer window.

After a rather unsuccessful time in his homeland of Spain last season, Sandro looks set to once again seek pastures new.

Nevertheless, Silva has hailed his attitude and has insisted that Sandro is more than ready to fight for his place.

He did a good pre-season, he worked hard and took his position in our squad. He is a good professional, a very good professional. Of course, when he didn’t perform like he wanted to during his first six months with the club for him it is clear the competition will be tough – but not just for him but the others as well.

But in my opinion, he is ready to fight and ready to compete to take his position in the squad and help the squad to improve as well.

Sandro featured prominently for Everton during their pre-season campaign but finds himself behind Cenk Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oumar Niasse in the pecking order of strikers at Silva’s disposal.
