Former Everton manager Marco Silva opens up on sacking, stating he ‘respected the decision’

Everton sacked Portuguese manager Marco Silva back in December 2019.

His sacking from the club was quickly followed by the appointment of now manager Carlo Ancelotti.

However, just a year and a half later from his untimely departure, he has spoken out about the situation with The Guardian.

In an exclusive interview with the publication, Silva remarked how he felt after the club had sacked him.

As cited by Everton fan page The Toffee Blues, Silva ‘fully respected the decision’…

It is great to hear that Silva fully respected the clubs decision at the time.

Despite a strong start to life at the club, things failed to pick up the way the board had hoped.

It is also nice to know that the relationship between Silva and Everton is still a positive one.

The Portuguese manager is a great young coach and it is good that he is continuing his learning.

There is no doubt that Silva will be back in football again with another top job.

Luckily for the Toffees, they found a fantastic replacement in Ancelotti, and the fruits of his labour are starting to show.
