Everton are set to be boosted ahead of their fixture with Crystal Palace after the international break, with senior trio James McCarthy, Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina all closing in on a return to full fitness.
As reported by the Times reporter Paul Joyce, the Toffees staged a behind-closed-doors friendly match as they looked to help some of the club’s recovering stars on their way back to match sharpness.

McCarthy, who suffered a broken leg in January against West Brom, made his return to action and was able to feature for an hour in the practice match.
Meanwhile, summer recruits Gomes and Mina appear to be edging ever closer to their long-awaited debuts for Everton. The pair also played for 60 minutes in the friendly.
Promising Toffees youngster Beni Baningime also featured as he works his way back to fitness.
