Mirallas Future Once Again Cast Into Doubt

Kevin Mirallas has his heart set on a transfer away from Everton Football Club, according to Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur. Terreur claims interest is high in the 27 year old on the continent, with Monaco apparently leading the chase along with some teams from Serie A. The impending return of Gerard Deulofeu on a permanent move from Barcelona, according to Terreur, will pave the way for Mirallas to leave the club he joined in 2012.

Speculation had been rife about the Belgian’s future throughout last season, who has two years left on his contract, especially following the penalty debacle against West Brom. But Mirallas appeared to quash rumours that he was unhappy at the club following the win against Burnley at Goodison in April, where he scored the winner. The former Olympiakos man claimed next season he saw himself “wearing the same shirt”. He echoed similar sentiments the following week after the win against Manchester United.

Now though, it appears the situation has changed again. Whilst away on international duty with Belgium, Mirallas has been talking of “broken promises” made by Roberto Martinez to him last season.

In a recent podcast with various Everton fansites, Martinez himself admitted that anyone who doesn’t want to be at the club will be shown the door.

It seems these latest developments will not be the last we hear on this front.
