Ronald Koeman has identified Roma’s Kevin Strootman as a target this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Everton are considering making a move for the Dutch international, who would cost a fee in the region of £30million – well within Koeman’s reported transfer budget of over £100million.
Kevin Strootman is the second midfielder to be linked since Koeman’s appointment, with Zenit’s Axel Witsel also linked with a move to Goodison Park,
The 26-year-old Strootman joined Roma in 2013 for a fee of £13.5million from PSV, but has since seen his career halted by injuries.
Last season, Strootman played his part in just five club games after a third knee operation in 18 months saw him once again sidelined. Prior to last season, Strootman only appeared six times where he, again, fell to a nasty knee injury.
He did, however, play 25 times in his debut season in the Serie A where scored five and assisted six times.
In recent years, Arsenal and Manchester united have held interest in the Dutch international, an indication of the players Everton can now target with Moshiri’s millions.
