Sheffield United have reportedly approached Everton over a loan move for defender Mason Holgate, but should Marco Silva look to give the 22-year-old a chance in the first team?
According to a Football Insider exclusive, the Blades are said to be keen on a loan move for Holgate as they prepare for life back in the Premier League.
But does the defender deserve a chance to compete for a first team spot under Silva?

Holgate initially impressed for Everton at the start of the 2018/19 campaign before losing his place in the side to Michael Keane upon his return to fitness, and was eventually loaned out to West Brom for the second half of the season.
But with the likes of Phil Jagielka and Kurt Zouma no longer at the club, the versatile Holgate could prove a useful player for Silva this season.
The Everton boss confirmed in March that Holgate was still part of his plans for this season, and there certainly appears to be an opportunity for the 22-year-old to force his way into Silva’s starting lineup on a consistent basis.
