Virals: Everton ‘interested’ in Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram

Everton are reportedly ‘interested’ in Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram

Blues’ boss Rafa Benitez is believed to be in the market for additional attacking options and January moves could be on the horizon.

According to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, as cited by Everton FC News on Twitter, Thuram could be on the list of targets.

The report cites competition from Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund for the 24-year-old capped on four occasions at senior level by France.

Following 18 goals and 15 assists over the previous two Bundesliga seasons, Thuram has only recently returned to the fold in Germany following a serious knee injury.

Described as an ‘extraordinary’ by Monchengladbach legend Günter Netzer, the Italian-born ace is predominantly utilised as a left-winger or central striker.

Signing another forward to supplement Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison and Salomon Rondon would appear to be a priority at Goodison Park in light of recent injuries.

Young, talented and most importantly, versatile, Thuram would be ideally suited to Benitez’ style of play so far at Everton.

Holding a perceived market value of £25.20million and in the final two years of a contract (Transfermarkt), the Blues may just sense an opportunity to land a bargain.
