Virals: Fabrizio Romano confirms leading role for Everton loanee in UCL

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to issue an update on Everton loanee Moise Kean ahead of his new side’s upcoming UEFA Champions League clash.

The Italian transfer expert has declared that Kean ‘will be Juventus starter (sic)’ on Wednesday night when the Old Lady of Italian football hosts Chelsea in the coveted continental competition.

The former Toffee joined the Turin-based titans on a two-year loan deal with Juventus agreeing to a £24 million option to buy the player.

Juventus have also paid a £6 million (€7m) loan fee meaning that the total value of the deal, including bonuses, will be worth £32.6 million (€38m).

The former Blues prodigy only scored four times in the Premier League for the Blues but is being called upon to fill the void left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, who formally completed his move back to Manchester United on deadline day.

Kean joined the Toffees from Juventus in 2019 for a fee in the region of £27 million [Sky Sports], but the Italy international soon fell behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti as he struggled for consistency in an Everton shirt.

Kean’s spell as an Evertonian is almost certainly over, but fans may be curious as to how he progresses back in Italian football.

In his first season, he only scored two goals in 33 matches for the club but enjoyed a more productive spell on loan at Paris Saint-Germain last season.

There, he found the net 17 times in 41 games and showed that perhaps the best is yet to come from the young Italian.
