Theo Walcott thanks Everton after permanent move to boyhood club Southampton

Everton winger Theo Walcott recently completed a permanent transfer to boyhood club Southampton.

The Englishman signed for the Toffees back in 2018 for just over £20million.

During his time on Merseyside, Walcott made 85 appearances, scoring 11 goals with 9 assists during that time.

This season saw the 32-year-old join breakthrough club Southampton on loan after a lack of game time at Everton.

After enjoying his time this campaign and Southampton happy with his contribution, the two clubs reached an agreement for a permanent transfer.

Tuesday saw the official confirmation of the transfer, with Walcott thanking Everton for his time at the club…

Despite not having the biggest impact during his time at Everton, Walcott certainly provided some great memories.

One of his best likely being his 90th minute winner against Watford last season in their 3-2 win at Vicarage Road.

The Toffees found themselves reduced to ten men with just 20 minutes to spare.

However, a sprightly counter attack from Richarlison, Moise Kean, and Walcott saw the Englishman finish off the move.

Walcott may have joined to club during the twilight years of his career, but he certainly made an impression.

Hopefully, Walcott can enjoy the latter stages of his time in football back where it all started for him.
