Everton target Oguzhan Ozyakup is reportedly close to putting pen to paper on a new contract with Besiktas.
The Turkey international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window as his existing deal nears its expiration.
However, according to Fotomac, Ozyakup is close to agreeing new and improved terms with the Super Lig side, casting doubt over a summer move away.
Everton were said to be leading the race for Ozyakup, therefore this news may come as a big blow for the Toffees as they bid to wrap up much of their business in the summer quickly.
However, Besiktas could yet lose Ozyakup in the summer, as Fotomac claim that a rather cheap release clause will be inserted in the midfielder’s new contract at the club.
It’s claimed in the report that a release clause worth just €12 million will feature, which is without doubt an affordable figure for most Premier League sides.
