Everton eye swoop for Schalke midfielder
Everton are interested in signing Donis Avdijaj from FC Schalke 04 this summer, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
The Bundesliga side are claimed to be ready to cut their losses with the Kosovo international, who has failed to live up to his early potential during his days in the youth system.
Avdijaj is only 21-years-old at the moment but it appears as though Schalke have lost patience with the player and are willing to allow him to seek pastures new.
The attacking midfielder could be available for a fee as low as £2.5 million, which is certainly an affordable sum for Everton and other potential suitors, such as Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United.
Avdijaj has only one year remaining on his current deal at Schalke, with Domenico Tedesco’s side now looking to cash in on the player following his lack of development in recent seasons.
Schalke finished the Bundesliga in 2nd place and evidently deem the midfielder surplus to their requirements going forward.
