Everton hoping to finalise managerial appointment this week

Everton are hoping to announce Marco Silva as their new manager by the end of this week, according to The Independent.

The Portuguese boss has been out of work since being dismissed by Watford back in January and has been heavily linked with the managerial post at Goodison Park for about six months.

But now, it seems like the Toffees have finally got their man, and are reportedly closing in on a three-year deal for Silva’s services.

The 40-year-old has had two spells in the Premier League. He very nearly saved Hull City from relegation and had a fairly inconsistent time at Watford, before his mid-season sacking.

But Everton, who relieved Sam Allardyce from his duties earlier this month, have been chasing Silva since the departure of former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman, and now look ready to secure a deal with the former Estoril, Sporting CP and Olympiakos manager, who will have a greatly anticipated arrival on Merseyside.

matchday.
