Everton make £18m offer for England under-21 international

Everton are set to offer £18m for Championship star James Maddison, who has been valued at £25m.

According to The Mirror, Everton are ready to offer £18m, with add-ons on top of that.

The report claims that Everton and Leicester are both looking to make an offer for Maddison over the next week.

This is in an attempt to stave off interest from the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City.

Everton are thought to be the favourites, as Norwich look to take in around £25m from the sale of Maddison.

Fulham are said to be showing an interest, although they are unlikely to match the financial strength of Leicester and Everton.

Maddison is expected to join as a replacement for Wayne Rooney – if he does seal a move to Goodison this summer.
