Everton eyeing swoop for Peru international
Everton have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Peru international Andre Carrillo this summer.
The former Watford winger has been impressive during his side’s campaign at the World Cup so far, standing out despite Peru’s shortcomings at the group stage.
Everton want to add more attacking quality to the ranks this summer and according to claims from Portuguese news outlet O Jogo, as translated by Sport Witness, Carrillo has emerged as a target.
The 27-year-old is currently under contract at Liga NOS giants SL Benfica but if reports are to be believed, a summer exit may be on the cards.
O Jogo indicate that Everton are not the only English club pondering a move for the wide player, who can also play in a more central role. Al Hilal are also understood to have emerged as a potential destination for the player.
Carrillo’s performances at the World Cup will have undoubtedly piqued interest from potential suitors across the world, so Everton could be forced to act quickly if they want to land the €20m-rated winger.
