Everton target considered by Italian giants
Inter Milan are interested in signing former Sporting CP midfielder and Everton target William Carvalho, according to reports.
Carvalho, who is currently in Russia with the Portugal World Cup squad, was one of nine players to have terminated his contract with the Portuguese club last week after the club’s players were attacked by fans last season.
Despite one of the nine, goalkeeper Rui Patricio, having already found a new club in Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sporting have confirmed that they intend to contest every contract cancellation with FIFA.
While that issue hasn’t been resolved, Inter could in theory sign Carvalho for nothing, and according to Football Italia, the Nerazzurri are considering making an offer.
Everton have also been linked with a move for the 26-year midfield unit.
New Toffees boss Marco Silva previously worked with Carvalho at Sporting, which could be why the club are said to be so interested at the moment.
Regardless of Carvalho’s Sporting contract dispute resolution, Everton will need to move quickly if they really do want their man.
