Everton reject Bundesliga bid for star winger

Everton have rejected a bid of £12million from RB Leipzig for winger Ademola Lookman, according to Mirror Sport.

The England Under-21 international joined the Bundesliga outfit on loan till the end of the season back in January, but now looks likely to feature in Marco Silva’s first-team plans for the coming season.

However, rumour has persisted that Lookman isn’t overly happy, and Leipzig haven’t hidden their desire to bring him back to the club on a permanent deal this summer.

Now they have made their first move, and Everton have knocked back their opening offer of £12million.

Given that Everton paid £10million to sign Lookman from Charlton Athletic 18-months ago, it is clear that Leipzig’s opening offer is nothing more than a starting point.

With Lookman said to be keen on the move, it is now up to the Bundesliga club to come back with a more suitable offer for the player.

Everton fans will be hoping that the club stand firm, with many considering Lookman the brightest of a crop of talented young players at the club.

While Sam Allardyce and Steve Walsh were said to be open to selling Lookman this summer, fans will be hoping the club’s stance has changed now that both men have been relieved from their duties.
