Everton hit with transfer ban and fine

Everton have been handed a two-year transfer ban from signing acedemy players following allegations of tapping up.

Paul Joyce reports that Everton have been given a ban and a hefty fine worth £500,000 for their actions.

It had suggested for some time that Everton could be punished for their actions after trying to sign a schoolboy from Cardiff City which breached regulations for the transfer of minors.

Allegations against Everton date back to 2016, according to reports, but the Premier League have now taken action.

The news will come as a huge blow to Everton, who in recent years have become known for their ability to swoop up some of the best young talents.

As a club, Everton have notoriously been one of the more willing when it comes to giving youngsters a chance within the first-team set-up, but their hopes of bringing through future talent have been dealt a huge blow following the news of a transfer ban.
