Brands reveals that Everton squad must be cut before new signings
Everton director of football Marcel Brands has confirmed that Everton will have to sell before they can buy in this January window.
Brands, who joined the club last May, believes that the current Everton squad has too many players, and is planning to cut down in January.
With a current first team squad size of 27, Brands is looking to sell some players this January before more players come in.
According to the Mirror, the likes of Oumar Niasse, Morgan Schneiderlin and Mason Holgate could all leave the club, before new signings come in.
Holgate could be leaving the club on loan, whilst Niasse and Schneiderlin both could leave on permanent deals.
Everton have been linked with a couple of players ahead of the January transfer window.
Andrija Živković from Benfica is reportedly an Everton target, whilst Godsway Donyoh and Tanguy Ndombele have also been reported targets for the Toffees this January.
However, if Everton are to sign anyone, Brands believes they will have to sell first.
