Everton winger Ademola Lookman has admitted that the backing of manager Marco Silva is important to him, as reported on the Liverpool Echo.

Silva and Lookman were captured talking to each other following Everton’s 2-1 victory over Lincoln City in the Third Round of the FA Cup at Goodison Park.

Lookman got his name on the scoresheet for the first time this season by netting a header.

When asked about what Silva said to him, Lookman said:

The manager just said to keep working hard every single day and be myself and keep going.

The winger has been struggling with an injury in recent weeks but proved to Silva that he is ready to fight for a first-team position.

Lookman continued:

For me, I am just trying to concentrate and keep working hard every single day in training and trying to improve myself and do what I can do.

For me, I work hard every single day and I have family and friends who help me and keep me focused. All I think about is playing football and that’s all I want to think about. The backing of the manager is important for sure.
