Everton 3-0 Cardiff: Everton Player Ratings

It wasn’t very good, but it was three points, and for the sake of Mr Silva’s sanity, that’s all that is needed from time to time.

Cardiff are not a good side, not to say that Everton are, but there shouldn’t be much pride in narrowly beating a team such as themselves, as cracks were most definitely papered over on a large scale.

However, the set up of the team was unforgivable and would have merited significantly worse results, this was simply a let-off.

There were shaky defensive performances and a lot of lethargic attacking efforts, much like the rest of the season has given us. There needs to be an immense improvement if Sunday is to be any more than a complete embarrassment.

That means no stale two-defensive midfield setup and no Phil Jagielka.

The scoreline was flattering, but that is enough of the serious negativity, as we, at times, looked very crisp indeed. Gana’s assist for the third was extremely un-Gana liked, Gylfi looked like a footballer, and we defended relatively well.

However, that isn’t to say I have any hope for the game on Sunday, as I don’t.

I really, really don’t. Here are our player ratings from the win over Cardiff.
