Everton are reportedly tracking AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie – but would the Ivorian be a smart signing by the Toffees?

According to Italian outlet calciomercato.com, Marco Silva’s side, along with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham, are all tracking the highly-rated 22-year-old ahead of a possible summer swoop.

The report claims that the Italian giants would be willing to part ways with the player this summer and would demand a fee in the region of €35m.

Everton’s stance on a potential move for the Ivory Coast international could depend on the future of current midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

The Senegalese midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain for the past six months and could make the move to the Parc des Princes ahead of the new season.

Although Kessie isn’t a natural holding midfielder, the youngster could prove to be an excellent addition to Silva’s side.

The Ivorian thrives off playing in a box-to-box midfield role and has all the capabilities needed to succeed in the Premier League.

Kessie is a powerful runner with the ball, has a high work-rate and isn’t afraid of a tackle, something which is needed at Goodison Park if Gueye leaves the club.

The Toffees may well have to bring in a natural holding midfielder if Gueye does depart, however, signing the highly-rated AC Milan man could prove to be an excellent piece of business.
