Everton want Zaha and Iwobi – Do you see Everton signing either of the duo?

Everton are interested in signing both Wilfried Zaha AND Alex Iwobi this summer, according to reliable BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein.

Separate reports had emerged in the past few hours that claimed Everton had cooled their interest in Zaha, while other reports claimed they had bid £30million for Iwobi, which was promptly rejected by Arsenal.

However, Ornstein has confirmed that while the Iwobi bid is genuine, the Toffees have not yet moved away from Zaha and the club would be open to signing both players before the transfer deadline.

Everton are expected to return with another offer for Iwobi, with £40million+ expected to be enough to sign Iwobi, with the Nigeria international also keen on a Merseyside switch, although he wouldn’t agitate for it.

Meanwhile they are still in for Zaha, although Crystal Palace are not expected to play easily over any prospective negotiations.

The links to Iwobi naturally had suggested that the Arsenal man was considered an alternate option to Zaha, so to hear that the club are interested in both is surprising.

Both players together would cost around £130-140million, and that seems mightily high for a club who are still desperate to sign another centre-half.

I don’t expect both players to sign, and Zaha certainly seems the more unlikely, but it will be interesting to see this saga unfold in the next 24 hours.
