Wilfried Zaha has officially handed in a transfer request at Crystal Palace, after Everton had their latest offer shot down earlier today, according to Sky Sports News.
The Ivory Coast international was promised that the Eagles would allow him to leave should they receive an appropriate offer this summer, and earlier reports had claimed he had been left furious after Palace rejected Everton’s most recent approach.

In a bid to force a move through, Zaha has submitted an official request to leave and Everton will now be monitoring the situation closely ahead of presumedly submitting a new offer for the 26-year old forward.

This transfer saga continues to surprise me, as I certainly didn’t expect Zaha to force his way out of Selhurst Park, not least after writing about earlier reports claiming Everton were set to walk away from negotiations.
While Zaha has been clear about wanting European football, which Everton do not have, the star forward evidently sees potential in the project spearheaded by Marco Silva, Marcel Brands and Farhad Moshiri.
If Everton are able to pull this deal off, it will be a major moment in the history of the football club and one that will be very interesting to see play out.
