Everton will wear last season’s white third kit against Crystal Palace this weekend, with the new season’s third kit not yet having been launched.

The Blues begin their season at Selhurst Park on Saturday, and Marco Silva and his squad are sure to be desperate to begin the campaign in the right way on the pitch.

Off the pitch though, Everton have a complicated situation, which has forced the club into making a bizarre decision in regards to their choice of kit tomorrow.

With Everton’s royal blue home shirt not available to be worn for obvious reasons, the Toffees had planned to wear their coral away kit against the Eagles, although a wrench has been launched into those plans.

Match officials are reportedly concerned about a colour clash (via Liverpool Echo), and the club have been asked to change their strip. However, with Everton’s third kit not to be launched until August 23, the club will be forced to wear last season’s white shirt.

This is a very bizarre situation, and one that Everton should never have found themselves in. In isolation, I actually really Everton’s third kit from last season, and if they had used the same strip again as this season’s third kit I’d have been totally fine with that.

However they haven’t, and the new third kit comes out later this month, and it makes me question why. Clubs have three kits for this very reason, to avoid kit clashes, so it makes me wonder why the club have been so slow to roll out all three of these new strips, particularly the third one which isn’t readily available before the season begins.
