Marco Silva has reiterated that Morgan Schneiderin is not for sale this summer, and will remain with the club until at least January.
The French midfielder has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer, with his position in Silva’s squad having looked uncertain.
Following Idrissa Gueye’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain, Schneiderlin appeared destined to remain on Merseyside out of necessity over anything else, however Everton’s late window interest in Abdoulaye Doucoure caused many fans to speculate that Schneiderlin was likely to leave.

However, a move for Doucoure didn’t materialise and Schneiderlin remains with Everton’s squad for the time being.

Silva did however clarify that exits for Kevin Mirallas and Oumar Niasse are so possible, with the duo not in the Portugese manager’s plans.

I’m relieved to hear that Silva is determined to keep Schneiderlin at the club for the time being, because I still genuinely believe he offers a lot to Everton. Schneiderlin is unlike any other midfielder at the club in regards to the way he plays, and on his best day he does a phenomenal job at controlling that midfield space.
We’ve seen in just the first game of the season how it can become difficult with injuries and suspensions, and with Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph still injured, I would not be comfortable with just Tom Davies and JP Gbamin as options for more defensive roles if Scheiderlin had gone.
If the Frenchman had pushed for a move in search of regular football, it would have been a much more difficult decision to make, but with the 29-year old determined to stay and impress I think that keeping him is the sensible and correct option.
