Kevin Mirallas was pictured in attendance at Royal Antwerp last night as the Belgian side played Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
The Everton winger watched on as Antwerp lost 5-2 on aggregate in their Europa League qualifying match, dumping them from the competition.

This comes off the back of recent reports linking Mirallas with a return to Belgium, with Antwerp said to be one of two clubs interested in bringing him back to his homeland.

We covered the story yesterday that claimed that while Antwerp and Club Brugge are both interested in the 31-year old forward, the former are more likely to secure a deal, with the club willing to take on Mirallas’ hefty wage demands.
Mirallas’ appearance does indicate that negotiations are progressing, and a deal for the Belgian to finally end his tenure on Merseyside could be close.

I mentioned yesterday that a deal for Everton to sell Mirallas would be great business for the club, and it’s great to see things progressing on that front.
I still believe that Mirallas is one of the most talented and technically gifted players to call Goodison Park their home in recent years, but his proclivity to spurn chances and his desire to leave the club in the past had hampered his consistency, and that West Brom penalty incident just about summed up everything wrong with his time at Everton.
He wasn’t a bad signing for only £6million, but now it is definitely time for him to go.
