The 32-year old German opted to remain with Juventus, despite the increase in competition for his position, with Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey both joining the Bianconeri in the summer.

This is an interesting story as it is one I hadn’t heard the slightest whisper about, although that could be that it just slipped through my net.

Khedira is far beyond his prime years now at 32, although with Fabian Delph brought in toward the end of his career it does indicate that Silva and Brands wanted an experienced head in midfield.
