Many Everton fans want to see Lewis Gibson brought into the first-team future in the immediate future, particularly amid speculation concerning a possible exit for the defender.
The former Newcastle man was signed for £6million in 2017 and has yet to make his first-team debut, although he is held in high regard on Merseyside.
In recent weeks all of Rangers, Newcastle, PSV and Ajax have registered an interest in the 19-year old centre-back, who will be out of contract at Goodison Park next summer.
With no immediate path to the first-team clear, Gibson could potentially consider his options in January, as he looks to kick start his career at senior level.
Several Everton fans want to see Marco Silva hand him his opportunity to shine for the Blues though, with a number of them taking to Twitter to express how Everton must sign Gibson to a new deal.
Twitter: @EvertonNewsFeed This lad should be breaking the 1st team imo, he runs the defence for the under 23’s, give him games (@Andy_B1997)
Twitter: @EvertonNewsFeed I get it when fans say sign him up, we would be mad to let him go, but what if we want to give him… https://t.co/6ZwITQfsB7 (@AidyDews)
Twitter: @TheGwladysSt Send him on loan to one of them. Would be criminal if we sold him. (@the_alexpeace)
Twitter: @EvertonNewsFeed Put him in first team (@Cameron_Macccc)
Twitter: @EvertonNewsFeed Sign him up on a 5yr deal and loan him out for a yr to Ajax or psv and get some minutes into him. (@toffeetommy79)

I can’t see where Silva can give Gibson minutes at this moment in time, which will ultimately hamper the club’s chances at keeping him contracted on Merseyside.
Silva has to make Gibson feel that he has a chance to eventually get a shot, but that is a difficult promise to make, particularly if the club are going through a period like they are at the moment where every player counts.
