Fabian Delph has encouraged his Everton teammates to make it three home wins on the spin against Tottenham this weekend.
Everton’s last two games at Goodison Park were the recent 2-0 win over West Ham in the Premier League and the 2-0 win over Watford in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.

The Toffees away form is still in need of improvement, with the club throwing away a point against Brighton at the Amex last weekend, scoring an own goal late on to lose 3-2.
Delph, who came on as a late substitute in the game against Brighton but returned to the starting line-up against Watford, has urged his teammates to keep pushing themselves as he targets a season resurgence following the Cup victory.
Talking to Everton’s website, Delph had this to say:
We needed to step up against Watford after not getting the points we wanted at Brighton – and as well as getting the job done we needed a good performance.
In the first half, we weren’t as sharp and fluid as we’d have liked but after half-time we fought and got the job done.
You have to look at each game as it comes and the aim is to go as far as we can in the cup and win the thing.
I am fortunate enough to have won this competition three times – it is a good one to win and hopefully we can keep that form going in the cup.
But, ideally, we need to start picking up more points in the Premier League because we should be in a much better position than we are currently.

This does highlight one of the benefits of signing a player with Fabian Delph’s wealth of experience, that when he isn’t on the field he can still be a senior word of wisdom in the dressing room.
Of course at this point the words are fairly shallow unless we see results on the pitch. Seamus Coleman has proven that on a number of times this past month with many cut and paste post-match words of encouragement.
Everton must continue to rebuild their season, and with the league table so close, the club only need a few more points to be back on track. Given how tough the fixture list is over the new few months though, every point will count between now and the New Year.
