Everton are keen on Burnley’s McNeil
Everton are one of several Premier League clubs to be keeping an eye on Burnley star Dwight McNeil, according to reports.
The 19-year old midfielder broke through into the first-team set-up at Turf Moor last season and he has since established himself as a vital member of Sean Dyche’s squad.
McNeil, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or out wide, has played in every one of the Clarets’ Premier League fixtures so far this season, scoring once against Chelsea late last month.
According to TEAMtalk, Everton are one of several Premier League clubs who have been impressed by his development, with Leicester and Wolves also said to be interested.
Leicester appear to be the most keen according to the report, with Brendan Rodgers’ side having watched him in recent weeks ahead of making an approach.
McNeil is rated at around £30million and with the player having recently signed a new long-term contract, Burnley won’t let him go easily.

McNeil certainly fits in the Marcel Brands’ mould of signing exciting young talent, and with his Premier League experience, he could be even more promising if Everton decided to firm up interest.
While £30million is a lot to spend on someone like McNeil, he could potentially be the answer to unlock this Everton squad that are currently struggling to perform.
With Gylfi Sigurdsson get older, Everton will soon need a more youthful and exciting attacking midfielder, and that is where interest in McNeil could come in. My one sticking point is how young he is, with Everton’s attacking option already so youthful.
