Everton write letter to Premier League about VAR concerns
Everton have written a letter to the Premier League expressing their concerns over VAR, according to reports.
The Toffees have been on the wrong end of some unfortunate VAR decisions in recent weeks, and the club are noticing a worrying trend of officials making the wrong calls.
Everton were incorrectly adjudged to have given a penalty away at Brighton, while Dele Alli’s handball in the box went unpunished when Everton played Spurs almost a fortnight ago.
Alan Myers reports on Twitter that alongside the Blues, a number of other clubs have also written to the Premier League to express their concerns too, including; Manchester City, Brighton and Aston Villa.

This isn’t a surprise at this point, because VAR has caused so many issues this season, and it was only a matter of time before clubs expressed their concerns.
Premier League positions impact clubs’ bottom lines, and whereas fans won’t care too much about the difference between 14th and 15th, if VAR knocks a club down one space incorrectly that ultimately means a huge loss of money.
Not to mention the fairness of the league, or the standard of entertainment, which have both also suffered, there is plenty to remedy with the burgeoning technology, and better officiating is a huge part of that.
