Agent of reported Everton target Rafael Santos Borre has shot down claims of an Everton bid for his client.
It had been reported yesterday that the Toffees had made a €15million offer to sign the Colombian forward, who has impressed for River Plate in Argentina this season.
However, according to agent Hulmuth Weninng, no such offer has been made for his client, although many clubs have indeed registered an interest in the 24-year old.

Everton have struggled for consistency among their forward department this season, with Moise Kean yet to score for the club, and with Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin drawing blanks more often than not.
Borre has a release clause of €30million if Everton did truly want to sign the South American, although reports have suggested that he would rather remain in Argentina for the time being.
Speaking exclusively to Sport Witness, when asked about Everton’s reported bid for Borre, agent Weninng said:
I’m not aware of this information.
When asked about whether there had been interest in his client though, Weninng said:
Yes, of course.

This doesn’t surprise me at all, and we’ll likely see many more stories like this before the end of the January window.
Ultimately my thoughts still rest on whether signing someone like Borre is in the club’s best interests. I don’t think another striker should be considered a high priority right now, but if a forward is targeted, it should be someone experienced in Europe who can come in and make an immediate impact.
Borre is another ‘one for the future’, and Everton don’t need more potential, they need proven quality.
