Everton fans slam Sigurdsson following performance against Arsenal

Several Everton fans have slammed Gylfi Sigurdsson following his performance against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Blues got off to the perfect start, with an acrobatic finish from Dominic Calvert-Lewin putting the travelling side 1-0 inside the first minute.

Goals from Eddie Nketiah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned the tide for the Gunners, before Richarlison scored a scrappy goal on the stroke of half-time to level the game 2-2.

Aubameyang got his second moments after the second-half restart, and despite Everton having a plethora of chances, the Toffees couldn’t find a highly coveted equaliser.

Throughout the performance at the Emirates, Sigurdsson failed to impress in the centre of midfield, demonstrating a lack of energy and poor passing ability, compared to the returning Andre Gomes who was cool and composed throughout.

Following the game in North London, where some fans felt that the Blues had deserved at least a point, a number of supporters took to social media to lambast Sigurdsson’s impact for the club, or lack thereof.
