Everton fans dismiss Man City’s chances of signing Holgate

Several Everton fans have taken to social media to mock Manchester City’s supposed interest in Mason Holgate.

The 23-year old defender is said to be a target for the Cityzens this summer, with Pep Guardiola’s side considering putting together a £30 million offer for the Everton man.

Holgate has been a mainstay in Everton’s line-up since October, having broken past Michael Keane to become Yerry Mina’s first-choice starting defensive partner for the Blues.

The former Barnsley man has earned many plaudits this season, with a number of supporters labelling the versatile defender the club’s best player of the season so far in January.

Guardiola is seemingly an admirer too, with City eyeing Holgate as an option to remedy their defensive woes, while John Stones could return to Goodison Park as part of the deal.

Many Everton supporters took to social media to voice their thoughts on the situation, expressing a mixture of disbelief at how low City’s offer could be, while also demanding a much more significant fee.
