Everton loanee Moise Kean has had the door to a Goodison Park return opened to him following comments made by Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo.

Leonardo declared that PSG do not possess a buyback clause for the former Juventus man, with Kean having joined Les Parisiens in the summer on a season-long loan from the Merseyside club.

That could spell good news for Evertonians, as the striker has found the net five times in just seven appearances for the Ligue 1 giants.

Leonardo’s comments contrast with reports which claimed PSG had a buyout clause on the Italian striker of a value below what Everton paid for him.

Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly confident that Kean will remain an Everton player, with Leonardo echoing those comments in a press conference covered via Sport Witness:

“There is no purchase option for Moise Kean,” he claimed.

“It would, unfortunately, be very high. He is an excellent player, whom we have been following for a while, a very powerful player!”

Leonardo’s comments are nonetheless a powerful endorsement of a player very much enjoying life in the French capital.

The news should be cause for optimism among Everton fans.

Kean would likely return full of confidence, assuming his good form continues. His form may well be maintained on Merseyside, allowing him to feature more prominently in Ancelotti’s plans.

His good form may also attract some suitors, though, so it remains to be seen as to whether he will feature for the Blues next season. For now at least, the ball appears to be in Everton’s court over Kean’s future.
