There was much to celebrate after it was confirmed that Liverpool’s ‘Tier 2’ status meant that Everton fans would finally be allowed to return back to Goodison Park, though the finer details to re-introducing fans met with disgruntlement from some loyal Evertonians.
The method in which tickets could be allocated was affected by a number of conditional factors. Chiefly, only fans residing in Merseyside would be eligible to apply for tickets with a ballot system ultimately deciding which lucky 2,000 fans would be granted the chance to see their team play live.
In what is an administrative headache for both the club and fans, it was always apparent that not everybody would be pleased with the allocation of tickets.
The first game to welcome back supporters will be the next home fixture as Chelsea travel to Goodison Park on Saturday 12 December. Fans who wish to attend the game will have a window between 5pm yesterday and midnight tonight in which to apply through the club.
Everton guarantees that a minimum of 91% of tickets will be allocated to Season Ticket Members and a maximum of 9% to Seasonal Hospitality Members and players’ families.

Not impressed – you basically have to live in Liverpool to go even if you live somewhere with much lower rates!
