Many Everton fans were less than pleased after ex-Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor used his platform on talkSPORT to slam Everton summer signing James Rodriguez – although the pundit was backed up by some fans of rival clubs.
The 34-year-old took aim at the Toffees player’s work rate and questioned several key attributes of the Colombian winger, who can also feature as an advanced playmaker. Agbonlahor raged that the 29-year-old “is getting a bit found out to be honest” and demanded more from the winger.

🥶 “It’s got cold… maybe he didn’t realise it was this cold here!”
🙏 “You just need more! He’s gone quiet & his work rate’s non-existent.”

Agbonlahor also attributed the English climate as a bizarrely crucial factor in a supposed decline of the winger before he slammed the work ethic of the player.

Agbonlahor argued that a lack of competition may be a key factor in supposed poor form, and his comments evoked the ire of many Everton fans.
However, the reactions did not extend solely to supporters of the Merseyside club – many rival fans also took aim at the ex-Villa striker following his remarks on Rodriguez:
