Isco may not be leaving Real Madrid in January for Everton after all amid the latest reports claiming he is set to stay for at least another half a season.
The Spanish playmaker seemed to be increasingly unsettled after earlier reports from Spanish publication Sport claimed that the Real Madrid man is ‘tired of being ostracised by [Real Madrid manager] Zinedine Zidane’.
Having weighed up his options ahead of the upcoming January transfer window, the player had reportedly decided he was unlikely to remain in the picture at the Bernabeu and would look to force a move in the New Year.
In search of regular game-time, the former Malaga man ‘[felt] the need’ to get a good six months of regular football under his belt in order to remain in contention for Luis Enrique’s Spain squad ahead of the Euro 2020 finals next June.
However, fresh reports from Eurosport have indicated a slightly different picture. Isco’s apparent infatuation with Madrid has prevented him from leaving previously, and that factor could keep him there until at least the summer of 2021.
It is expected that he will have ‘opportunities in England, Italy and Spain’ in the winter window but it would take ‘a very impressive offer’ to tempt him away from Los Blancos.

Isco has been a recurring Toffees target in the global press, and the picture is becoming increasingly complicated amid fluctuating reports as to his future.
Everton may now have to wait until the summer window to sign Isco, although his contract situation (up to 2022) means he would then be available at a much lower cost. Therefore, patience could pay off for the Merseysiders.
