Christian Eriksen can add Everton to a growing list of European suitors queuing up to offer the Danish midfielder a fresh start after being shown the exit door at Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan.
According to Italian outlet La Stampa, the Toffees have lodged an enquiry with the Serie A giants as to the availability of the creative midfielder, who is set for an exit from the San Siro barely a year after making the move from Tottenham.
Having scored just four goals in 39 appearances for the Nerazzurri, Eriksen looks to be on the periphery in Milan.
According to La Stampa, the enquiry means Everton are joined by Wolves, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Manchester United and his former club Spurs on the list of clubs interested in taking Eriksen off Inter’s hands.
Speaking in February last year, Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti made no secret of his admiration for Eriksen, even likening him to Italian deep-lying playmaker and Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo as he said:
Eriksen is the complete midfielder, as he can play both wide and in a deeper role.
I see him very similar to Pirlo, so he could also play in front of the defence. He can see the passing lines, can shoot from distance too.
The Danish playmaker scored 69 goals and set up another 89 in 305 appearances for Spurs during his time in England.

Eriksen’s record at Tottenham speaks for itself – there is little doubt he is a top-class Premier League midfielder.
In a further boost to the Toffees, a move would be affordable. Calciomercato claimed that Inter want just £17m, whilst Eriksen is on £120,000-a-week wages.
In truth, it is not the cost nor doubts over his talent that seem the main obstacles, but rather the volume of suitors who could move for the 28-year-old.
