Everton look increasingly likely to convert Robin Olsen’s loan from Serie A side AS Roma into a permanent deal, according to the latest reports coming out of Italy.
Olsen has emerged as a reliable option to provide competition and cover for Jordan Pickford between the posts, having started for Everton on 5 occasions in the Premier League this season.
Prior to his loan switch, Olsen had endured lacklustre spells in Serie A with both Roma and a separate loan to fellow Italian side Cagliari last season.
However, the latest analysis of Roma from Correire dello Sport [via SportWitness] has issued a surprise boost for Everton, indicating the Toffees are already setting the wheels in motion for a permanent transfer for the Sweden international.
The analysis indicates that the goalkeeper ‘will remain at Everton’, with the Premier League side ‘already communicating the intention to purchase him’.
The report adds that AS Roma’s no. 1 spot looks increasingly shaky with main choice Pau Lopez potentially returning to Spain.
Jan Musso of Udinese is one favourite supposedly being explored, but the Italian capital would need to see both Olsen and Lopez depart first in order to raise the funds to conclude a sale.
