Fabrizio Romano says £27m Juventus defender is NOT a target despite search for new centre-back

Everton are reportedly on the search for a new centre-back in this upcoming summer transfer window.

The news come from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who revealed yesterday that the Blues were on the look out.

His report also revealed that the club admired Barcelona youngster Ronald Araújo.

However, the Catalan club do not want to sell the young Uruguayan after his impressive debut season.

Romano also explained how Juventus defender Merih Demiral is NOT a target for the club despite reports

The Turkish defender currently has a market value of £27million according to Transfermarkt.

Not only has Romano dismissed reports around Everton starting talks with Demiral, he has never even been a target.

The Italian pundit has become one of the most reliable sources for transfers, so Demiral is more than likely just a rumour.

It will be interesting to see who the Blues target in the summer.

If their search for a new centre-back is true then there has to be some options that the club are exploring.

With Demiral and Araújo essentially non relevant to their search, then this opens up the discussion completely.

One thing for sure is that the Toffees will be looking towards to future, with a possible long term partner for Ben Godfrey.
