Everton leading the race to sign Lazio’s £27m-rated Argentinian starlet

With the Premier League season drawn to a close, the summer transfer window is getting underway.

Everton enjoyed a successful window last time out with some great new additions.

The likes of James Rodriguez, Ben Godfrey, Allan, and Abdoulaye Doucoure all made a great impression.

This summer will likely be no different, with some areas of the squad still requiring attention.

According to La Repubblica (via SportWitness), Everton are front of the queue to sign Lazio forward Joaquin Correa.

The Argentinian currently has a market value of £27million and has been a consistent player fo the Italian club.

Everton’s reasoning is due to the likelihood of Moise Kean joining PSG on a permanent deal.

Correa is a versatile forward who can play as a centre-forward or as an attacking midfielder which is a great attribute.

However, with the reasoning behind the interest due to Kean departing, it is likely he would be used as a striker.

Despite his market value, the sale of Kean would make more than enough to justify a deal for the Argentinian.

La Liga clubs are also interested according to La Repubblica, but Everton are leading the race.

Time will tell as to whether Everton do end up making a move for the forward.

The club had hopes this season of securing European football but failed to meet the margins.

Hopefully, new additions in the summer such as Correa will be enough to push the Toffees to the next level.
