Virals: Yannick Bolasie backs the Blues as he discusses the Everton result

Former Everton winger Yannick Bolasie took to Twitter to laud the Blues for their remarkable comeback home win against Burnley on Monday night.

The Blues found themselves a goal down thanks to Ben Mee reacting best to a Johann Gudmundsson cross but fought valiantly to come back from a goal down to win by a convincing 3-1 scoreline.

Andros Townsend stole the show with a finely worked cross after Mee’s goal that was met by Michael Keane, who rose with indomitable poise to fire a free header past his former club.

The former Toffee then achieved the unbelievable by scoring a looping long-ranged effort from outside the box to give Everton the advantage.

Later on, fellow new Blue Demarai Gray completed the victory by latching onto a supremely worked through ball from Abdoulaye Doucoure to then fire beyond Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, securing his third goal in as many games in the process.

Bolasie frequently Tweets about the escapades of his former clubs on Twitter and keeps an eye on results, with Monday night’s antics on home soil proving to be no exception.

Bolasie took to Twitter to congratulate his former club on their win as he wrote:

“Big win for the [Blues]’s last night! Just caught the highlights”, commented the ex-Toffee before accompanying his words with relevant emojis.

Bolasie never really got going in an Everton shirt, though it is nonetheless touching to see him continuing to cheer on his former emloyers.

Following a £25 million move from Crystal Palace, he only managed two goals and four assists with just 32 outings since 2016.

He now finds himself in Turkey with Caykur Rizespor.
