Virals: Everton have ‘watched’ in form FC Basel striker Arthur Cabral

Everton have been named as one of the clubs to have ‘watched’ FC Basel striker Arthur Cabral this season.

The 23 year old Brazilian has been attracting major attention from across Europe with his superb form and the Toffees are one of those to take notice.

TEAMtalk name Benfica, Porto, Fiorentina, Southampton, Leeds United, Tottenham, Arsenal, West Ham and Brighton are also mentioned as potential suitors.

This season Cabral has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 13 Swiss Super League appearances.

Overall the Brazilian youth international has netted a remarkable 23 times in 24 outings across all competitions in 2021/22.

Valued at £13.5million and under contract in Switzerland until 2023 (Transfermarkt), spending the mooted €15million (£12.5million) on Cabral is a bargain opportunity.

The Toffees have struggled to cope with the long-term absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and an attacking addition in January would be a welcome boost to Rafa Benitez’ squad.

Clearly a player in red-hot form in front of goal, bringing Cabral to Goodison Park would appear to be a no-brainer.

matchday.
