- Delgado has attracted interest from many Premier League clubs, including Everton
- Argentinian is under contract until December 2029
- The midfielder has made 14 league appearances for Boca this season
David Moyes has transformed the Toffees into European contenders, and the next step would be adding new talents as they seek their European ambitions of their own.
One name that has appeared for Everton is Boca Juniors midfielder Milton Delgado. The 20‑year‑old, already viewed as the South American ‘golden boy’, is attracting serious interest from clubs across the globe.
According to Sports Boom, Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Everton are the English sides keen on signing the Argentine midfield dynamo. Sunderland are also monitoring the situation. However, Boca Juniors are in a strong negotiating position. Delgado is under contract until December 2029, giving the Buenos Aires club plenty of room to negotiate.
While Boca might not prioritize a sale, their financial struggles mean they are open to a move, provided the offer matches their valuation. At present, no official written proposal has reached the club but clubs remain interested, including Inter Miami of the MLS.
Paredes: ‘He plays very well, he’s very intelligent’
Delgado has already caught the eye of some of Argentina’s biggest names. Former Argentina midfielder Leandro Paredes offered a candid assessment of the youngster.
“I see Milton Delgado in very good shape. I saw him play two or three matches on TV and also when we played at Huracán’s pitch in Bahía Blanca,” Paredes said. “I had never seen him in person before, and he plays very well: he’s very intelligent and tries to play vertically. I hope he continues to grow and try to improve.”
The midfielder has made 14 league appearances for Boca this season, starting ten of them and accumulating 892 minutes. He has registered one assist, created one big chance, and averages 0.5 key passes per game. As per Sofascore, His passing accuracy stands at 89%, with 93% in his own half and 84% in the opposition half. He also completes 1.6 long balls per match at 56% accuracy. Those numbers suggest Delgado’s ability to play from the deep.
Why Everton are monitoring Milton Delgado
Everton’s midfield is in transition. Idrissa Gana Gueye is nearing the end of his contract, and the club need younger options. Delgado fits the profile with his intelligence and contribution in both defensive and attacking phases. His ability to operate as a box‑to‑box midfielder would complement James Garner and Kiernan Dewsbury‑Hall at Everton.
Inter Miami and Atlanta United are also interested, meaning competition is not limited to Europe. But the Premier League remains an attraction. Everton can offer minutes as well if European qualification is secured, as David Moyes would require good squad depth to rely upon.
If Everton can sign Delgado, they could land one of South America’s most promising young midfielders. Delgado can become the latest Argentine to light up the Premier League.
