Leeds join Everton in pursuit of Sunderland striker

  • Everton linked with multitude of names ahead of the summer transfer window.
  • An area that has been criticised this season is the Blues’ options in attack.
  • One player linked with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium is Wilson Isidor.

Everton’s upcoming transfer window will be one of their biggest in recent seasons.

After an impressive season that has seen the Blues compete for a spot in Europe, David Moyes will want to build on his work and direct his side to the top of the Premier League.

One area that has been a cause for debate is Everton’s striking options, yet in recent weeks, Beto and Thierno Barry have made a case to silence their critics.

Regardless, the Toffees have still been linked with moves to boost their forward line, including Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor, but Moyes’ side could face competition for the Frenchman.

Leeds United are considering a move for Wilson Isidor

Isidor was a key man in Sunderland’s successful promotion bid in the 2024-25 season, and scored in their first Premier League game since 2017, as the Black Cats saw off Moyes’ old side, West Ham United.

The forward has since struggled to find consistent game time in the North East and has been linked with a move away from Regis Le Bris’ side, including a potential move to Leeds United, according to the Sunderland Echo.

In the opening nine league matches, the striker registered four goals for his side and was coping effectively with the step up to tier one football.

But his form has since curbed, with the 25-year-old only bagging once in 21 league encounters, which has led to him finding reduced action in the first team.

In March 2026, Isidor declared to play for the Haiti national team and scored in his second appearance for them following a 1-1 draw against Iceland.

Is there room for Wilson Isidor?

When Isidor was first rumoured with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton’s striking options of Barry and Beto were proving to be a disappointment to Evertonians.

Yet the pair have kicked into gear in the Blues’ final Premier League matches, which will leave Moyes wondering as to whether he needs to actually reinforce his strikers.

The choice to sign a third striker will boil down to whether Everton achieve European qualification.

If the Toffees have European football on the cards for next season, then another man to lead the line will be needed to ensure depth remains up top.

Isidor would be an ideal backup option, but it may be a role that the Haitian international does not want to undertake.
